Sewing Instructions:
Step 1: With a ruler and rotary cutter, cut the Purple 5-1/4" square twice diagonally to create four triangles. Repeat with the green 5-1/2" square.

Step 2: With a pencil and a ruler, draw a diagonal line from corner to corner on the back of twelve Purple 2-1/2" squares.

Step 3: With a ruler and rotary cutter, cut each Orange 4-7/8" squares once diagonally to create two triangles. Four orange triangles made.

Step 4: Layer a marked Purple 2-1/2" square on the upper right corner of a Green 4-1/2" square, right sides together. Sew along the line that you drew in Step 2. Trim away excess fabric 1/4" above the seam and press the seam allowance toward the Purple fabric. Repeat in the upper left corner. Make 4.

Step 5: Layer a marked Purple 2-1/2" square on the upper right corner of the Orange 4-1/2" square, right sides together. Sew along the line that you drew in Step 2. Repeat in the lower left corner. Trim away excess fabric 1/4" above the seam and press the seam allowance toward the Purple fabric. Repeat in the upper left corner and the lower right corner. Make 1.

Step 6: Arrange the green and purple triangles as shown below. Sew each pair together along one short side. Press seam allowances toward the purple fabric. (4 triangle units made.)

Step 7: Sew each triangle unit to an orange triangle as shown below. Press seam allowances toward the orange triangles.

Step 8: Arrange the block units as shown below. Sew horizontal units together to form rows and press seam allowances toward the Green/Purple units. Sew rows together to finish the block and press seam allowances away from the center row.
